About IMS

Connecting cars and driving change for over 20 years

A tale of two telematics pioneers.

IMS is an international technology brand focused on vehicle connectivity and intelligence for the insurance, mobility and automotive industries.

Part of Trak Global Group, a privately-held British company, we run IMS DriveSync®, an award-winning technology platform comprising hardware, software and services. Designed to make driving safer, smarter and greener, IMS DriveSync® now lies at the center of a wider ecosystem that includes the development of smart cities, smart cars and autonomous vehicles.

A global group with a unique offering.

With technology deployed in fifteen countries and a turnover in excess of $50 million, Trak Global Group is dedicated to helping organizations manage driver and vehicle risk. Unlike its rivals in the telematics world, the company owns a profitable insurance provider in the form of Carrot, a UK-based auto insurer. Working alongside the team at IMS, Carrot operates as a real-life test bed for our technologies, enabling us to prove and refine the effectiveness of our products before we offer them to the market.

Trak Global Group now has partnerships with major insurers all over the world, not to mention corporate fleets, rental companies and some of the biggest names in auto manufacture.

The journey continues.

Over two decades after the company was set up, IMS now has nearly 200 connected car patents and patents-pending. We work with numerous universities on joint research projects, and are ISO 27000 compliant and certified in the UK. We are also members of ITS America, ITS Canada, Leaseurope, the APMA Connected Vehicle Group, the British Vehicle Rental & Leasing Association and ngConnect.

IMS was acquired by Trak Global Group in 2018, to bolster and extend the group’s worldwide technology offering. All Trak Global software, hardware and services are now delivered under the IMS brand – the latest step on a journey of acquisition and innovation that continues to gather pace.
